Spiritual Bypassing

Spiritual bypassing is like painting over rust: it may look fine on the surface, but the corrosion continues underneath. True spirituality isn't an escape route from life's challenges or a licence to neglect responsibilities. It's a deep engagement with reality, in all its messiness.

When one genuinely understands the interconnectedness of all things, it becomes evident that dodging responsibilities or suppressing emotions does a disservice not just to oneself, but also to the broader web of existence.

In the openness of awareness, nothing is hidden. Everything is laid bare.

Imagine the universe as an all-encompassing mirror, reflecting not just your actions but your thoughts, your intentions, the hidden corners of your corners, the shadows behind your shadows. The intrinsic space that the universe rests in is like a clear sky that knows both the flight of the eagle and the fall of a leaf. You're not fooling anyone, least of all the cosmos, by bypassing or suppressing what is.

"Love and light" become not mere words or excuses to bypass complexities, but are understood as the natural radiance of awareness that permeates all aspects of life, including our challenges, responsibilities, and difficult emotions.

So, when you attempt to spiritually bypass, you're essentially trying to hide in a house of glass. You might momentarily fool yourself, but the universe sees right through it. Just as a light doesn't discriminate between illuminating a jewel or a heap of garbage, true awareness sheds light on all experiences without avoidance. So, far from encouraging a bypass, a true spiritual perspective urges you to face yourself and life fully, bringing the purifying force of love and light to every corner of your experience.
