Welcome to your Illumination Retreat in Peru!
LOCATION INFORMATION:
Arin in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the center el santuario is located, is a discreet and enchanted place amongst the majestic Andes Mountains and home of the twelve mountains known as "apus" "luminous beings" who are said to intercede on behalf of people. Here the medicine is strong and our prayers become stronger as we deepen the understanding of the Forest Path and walk with some of our local friends, curanderos and sound healers along the way

We will have arranged a complimentary shuttle service available with two pickup options. 1.30pm from the Cusco Airport, or 2pm from Plazoleta de las Nazarenas in front of the Hotel in the center of Cusco to take us to Munay Sonqo. The driver will have a sign with MUNAY SONQO on it.
Please email us to confirm if you will be at either of these locations so we can inform the driver. The Shuttle will pass through Pisac around 2.40pm and can pick up anyone in Pisac at that time in front of the Pisac Inn in the main market square if you advise us you will be there. We can expect to be settling into Munay Sonqo Retreat Center around 3.30pm, and will be having dinner between 5/ 5.30pm. Our Opening Ceremony will be following dinner.

WEATHER:
The weather is warm in the day. and very cold in the mornings and nights.. You can bring short sleeves, tanks, hiking shoes, sandals/flip flops, yoga pants etc. Make sure you bring lots of warm clothes for night time, sweaters, long pants, and socks to avoid bug bites. It can get very cold in the mountains, so lots of layers are best, including thermals, fur-lined boots, ponchos etc. (they can be bought locally). A time piece with an alarm, a headlamp and a thermos or thermal mug could also be useful to you. Please bring any sacred objects you work with as well.
MONEY:
The Peruvian Sol is the currency used in Peru.
Use “sol” for singular, “soles” for plural.
1 usd = 3.3 soles, 1 cad = 2.5 soles, 1 eur = 3.75 soles
There are ATM's in Pisac and in Cusco. We will have a half a day in Pisac for you to shop if you need and it is a good money to have cash if you would like to interact with our local arts and instrument makers.
Travel Preparation (Visa & Vaccines):
According to the Center for Disease Control, there are currently no required vaccinations for the part of Peru where the training is held. For most nationalities, a Peru Tourist Visa will be given at immigration once you’ve arrived at no cost. Please check with your consulate regarding your specific country before entering Peru.
